About Us

We are Dave's Mountain Tours and the San Juan mountains around Telluride, Colrado are our mountains.

Dave Rote:
I have been living in Telluride with my family since 1992. In addition to running Dave's Mountain Tours, I'm a local columnist, archeologist, and specialist in the mining history of the San Juan region. I hold an M.A. in Anthropology from Tulane University and am a graduate of the International Tour Management Institute of San Francisco. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about our tours. Leigh Robertson:
Originally a Jersey girl, who also lived in Ohio, Minnesota, and Montana
before finally settling in beautiful Colorado. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ohio State University (go Bucks!). Leigh has worked for the U.S. Forest Service, The Nature Conservancy, state and local parks, and was the Interpretive Program Supervisor for Garden of the Gods Park and Pikes Peak. Leigh is also the author of Southern Rocky Mountain Wildflowers. In addition to providing customer service for Dave’s Mountain Tours, she is the Coordinator for the San Miguel Basin Gunnison Sage-grouse Working Group. In her spare time, Leigh enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and writing poetry. Leigh and her 17-year-old daughter, Megan, live in Ridgway with their cat M.K.
